At Foodscapes, we help people turn bare land into meaningful, productive spaces that support self-sufficiency and a values driven life. Whether you're living in a tiny house, a cabin, a bus, or still planning your setup, we meet you where you're at - with down to earth guidance tailored to your land, your vision, and your life.
We understand the realities of starting fresh - the excitement, the overwhelm, the big dreams and tight budgets. We offer honest, practical support grounded in regenerative and permaculture principles, designed to help you make confident decisions and steady progress.
Our work isn’t about gimmicks or quick fixes. It’s about real conversations, lasting relationships, and helping you build a life that feels aligned - for your whānau, your whenua, and your future.

Real Experience. Practical Solutions. A Deep Connection to the Land.
Many people dream of moving to the country, starting fresh, and living a more self-sufficient life. But the reality is: without the right knowledge and a clear plan, it can quickly become overwhelming. I started Foodscapes to bridge that gap: to help people transition successfully, avoid costly mistakes, and make choices that lead to long-term resilience.
Whether you’re starting from bare land, reviving family whenua, or transforming a lifestyle block, Foodscapes is here to guide you every step of the way - with the benefit of real, lived experience.
I believe that sustainability should be achievable, affordable, and tailored to your life. My work is rooted in honesty and practicality. No gimmicks, no unrealistic ideals. I combine permaculture design principles with real world know-how to create spaces that feed people, nurture the land, and stand the test of time.
When we work together, it’s not just a one-off transaction. I take the time to understand your vision, challenges, and values. I build lasting relationships with my clients, offering guidance that’s as personal as it is practical.

some background & credentials
Foodscapes was born from a lifelong passion for our environment and freedom, and a desire to live a balanced and more natural life. With decades of real life experience working on and with the land. I don’t just talk about it, live it.
After over four years living independently, rurally and off grid, and a year ago relocating to a challenging, blank(ish) slate on remote, rural, coastal land, I understand the the challenges and rewards of creating a functional, resilient life from scratch, and the excitement, the setbacks, and the problem solving it takes to turn bare land into a thriving, self sufficient space.. because I’ve done it, and am doing it myself.
